# Guardian types

Guardians are the core units used to defend against enemies, categorized by rarity and role:

* Common: Basic units, easy to summon, ideal for early waves.
* Rare: Stronger units requiring merges or higher resource costs.
* Epic: You have 3 Rare units? Ok, merges them to have an Epic one
* Legendary: More powerful units in the battle&#x20;
* Mythic: Powerful units like Lancelot (percent-based damage), Kitty, or Frog, capable of turning the tide of battle.
